Fast Design: fill the timeline
When the timeline describes where sounds should go, find local assets, compose them, and place them at the corresponding REAPER positions.
Write clear sound descriptions
- •Selected empty Items take priority. Give them descriptive names, such as “heavy distant metal door slam.” Notes are used when the name is empty.
- •If no empty Items are selected, set a Time Selection containing descriptive Markers. “Marker 1” does not describe a sound.
- •Check that Sounds has scanned, enabled libraries and that Chat AI and REAPER Bridge are connected.
Fill the described moments
- 01Prepare the empty Items or Marker range in REAPER.
- 02Choose Fast Design in Chat, add style or preservation requirements, and send.
- 03Audition directly in REAPER. Check start positions, duration, and asset choice, then revise unsuitable parts individually.
A simple example
Name two empty Items “close wooden door shut” and “lock click,” then select them. Ask: “Fill these two empty Items. Keep them short and do not add ambience.” Check that both sounds land at the intended positions.
