Search with text, audio, or recordings

Use text for names, Smart Search for descriptions, and Find Similar for reference sounds.

01

Text search and Smart Search

  1. 01Check the databases to search. Enter names or keywords for ordinary search; turn on the lightbulb for a listening description.
  2. 02Try a specific request such as “a short wooden crack without reverb.” Your configured LLM can interpret Chinese requests without manual translation.
  3. 03Audition candidates. Lock the main terms when you want to retain a source and try different actions.
02

Find sounds like selected audio

  1. 01Select a reference sound and open the Find Similar dropdown.
  2. 02Choose audio selected in the app for a Sounds list asset, or audio selected in the DAW for a REAPER reference.
  3. 03Wait, then audition and compare. If nothing appears, check completed similarity analysis and relax the filters.

Record a reference sound

  1. 01Choose the correct input in Preferences → Audio and confirm the microphone has a signal.
  2. 02Start recording, make one clear sound, and stop. The current search excerpt range is 0.35–10 seconds.
  3. 03Listen first. Check for silence, low level, or severe distortion before searching.
  4. 04Audition the matches and choose one, or record a clearer reference.

Similar, but not what I wanted

Similarity considers both listening character and acoustic features. Add material or action keywords, restrict libraries or folders, and audition again. Rank alone cannot tell you whether the duration, layers, or background noise fit your task.
